2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as your name and email address when you create an account or contact us for support.

We also collect information about your use of VerseWrite, such as the features you use, the content you create, and the devices you use to access the Service.

3. Cookies and Website Analytics

This website (versewrite.app) uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which articles are read. Google LLC acts as a processor for this purpose.

No analytics cookies are set before you agree. A banner appears on your first visit where you can accept or decline; declining places no restriction on your use of the site.

If you agree, we collect the pages you visit, time on page, device and browser type, and approximate region. IP addresses are anonymised.

We also record a few in-page actions: whether you tapped the transcribe button (including which verse), whether you tapped an app store badge, whether you followed an external link (and its destination), and whether you read an article to the end. None of this identifies you personally.

Your choice is stored in your browser and can be changed at any time using the link at the foot of this page. Clearing your browser storage also resets it.

How consent is obtained depends on where you are. In the EU, EEA and the UK, where prior consent is required by law, we ask through a banner. Elsewhere, this policy serves as the notice. In either case you can change your choice at any time using the link at the foot of this page.

This website loads fonts from Google Fonts and icons from unpkg.com. Simply opening a page transmits your IP address to those servers, and this happens regardless of your consent choice. The analytics script (gtag.js) is fetched for the same reason, but it sets no cookies before you agree.

Transcriptions you write in the app are unrelated to this analytics and are never sent to Google.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve VerseWrite, to communicate with you, and to personalise your experience.

We may also use your information for research and development purposes, in a form that does not identify you individually.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We may share your information with service providers who help us operate VerseWrite, such as cloud storage providers and customer support platforms.

We may also share your information if required by law or to protect our rights or the rights of others.

6. Your Choices

You can access, update, or delete your personal information at any time in your account settings.

If you are unable to do so directly, contact info@versewrite.app and we will act on your request without undue delay.

You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages.

7. Data Retention

We delete personal information without undue delay once the purpose for which it was collected has been fulfilled.

Where applicable law requires a longer retention period, we retain the information for that period only.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, use, or disclosure.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

9. Children's Privacy

VerseWrite is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or under 14 where local law requires), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it without undue delay.
